It runs right through FFP and PSR if any sponsorship deals are ok because the APT was unlawful.

I hope you are right Buzzo, but to me as a lay-person, I think it significantly weakens the PL's case for the 115 charges. Any that relate to sponsorship could be thrown out, in theory at least.

Just waiting for the end where the PL apologise to city and the club goes off to spend 2billion worth of sponsorship money in the next window.

That’s the thing though, they are arguably the best run club in the world now. Great academy that generates a decent profit as well as brining in first team players, buy and sell really well and they win. They don’t need to spend extravagantly anymore but they can if they need within the rules

          But

It was all built on corruption, they couldn’t have got to this state without the cheating they did.

City have spun that. They won on 2 of the 25 challanges... and one of those on shareholder loans that now cant be excluded probably wont affect City.

As suspected after throwing huge resources on challenging the Premier League, Man City appear to have secured relatively narrow successes in APT case. The APT rules simply revert to those that were agreed in Nov 2021. There has not actually been a case involving new rules.

The twitter discourse on all of this is distasteful to say the least.

Everton, City and Newcastle fans are somehow bent over backwards on trying all sorts of mental gymnastics to claim some sort of victory. I guess we are dealing with hot takes and not very bright individuals but still.

I guess its their shot at the big time no matter how hollow that may be. They weren't doing it the hard way, that's for sure.

As far as I understand, the APT side of it was to revert back to 2021 rules (or dismissed, depending on what you read), but will be strengthened further in the near future? So not really a win for City, more one for the PL?

And the FMV side, instead of falling on the club to prove it is fair, will instead shift to the PL to prove it is unfair? Something that City claim is a win, but in reality, not that big a deal?

                    Or is that over-simplifying things?

The cheeky c*nts are now writing to all the clubs claiming the Premier league has lied about the outcome. With City's resources, this will run and run forever.

Does sound like City are getting a little bit desperate now.

Surely antagonising the PL is not anygreat way forward.

                              Very simple question.

Can the premier league decide on who or what can be part of the Premier League?
It is a business and must surely have control over who it deals with. Or are there special rules governing sports bodies? I believe it is owned by the FA, a business in itself.

It's owned by the clubs, so it is free to write its own rules, as long as they fall within the law.

Until one of the clubs decides to sue it, because it doesn't like the rules it has signed up to.
                                Oh I don't know.
