That amounts to 18.2m a year in wages. If you want an established international with his talent (still think he's overrated personally), then you would end up paying waaaayy more in todays market. I mean it buys you 1/4 VVD and wages come on top of that.Originally posted by RoadEnd View PostHe's allegedly after £350,000 a week. Utd would be dumb enough to pay that.
The real winners from the transfer race are the player wages as it becomes even more attractive getting them in.
It's crazy wages no doubt, everything above an average wage for kicking inflated cow skin is really, but at the end of the day that's maybe less crazy than the fees. Clubs budget with a combined transfer and wage/bonus etc. pocket, so high wages can make sense in some instances.

But who’s prepared to pay him £350k in 3 years time when he’s on the decline? Only a brave cash rich club could do what you suggestOriginally posted by EwarWoo View PostSign him on a 5 year contract, play him for 3 years, sell on at 54m, had a free player.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

it is a big IF, 3 big players who I would have thought would want CL, and they have very little hope of getting that with Arsenal at present.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostTis a big if._____________________________________

Unlike some others I think Lacazette has show glimpses of why he was wanted. They don't play to his strengths and now without Sanchez and Ozil his adaptation seems to have been knocked. Think with a more creative midfield supplying him he would look class.
Yeah Lacazette was being played as second fiddle to Welbeck at the start of the season and in a deeper position.
Up until recently he was making loads of runs and losing his marker and nobody in the Arsenal midfield seemed capable of getting the ball to him.
He showed at Lyon just how well he can work off of a clever AM or support striker when he and Fekir worked in tandem.
We of all supporters should know just how easily a lacklustre midfield can make a good striker look average or poor. We have seen plenty of examples of that in seasons gone by.
Would not like to be any striker playing at Arsenal atm as the team as a whole looks like it has given up the ghostI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah
Did not get the logic of spending that much on a guy who was a regular goal getter at his previous club, and then playing him in a deeper position or being behind Welbeck in the pecking order.
Having said that, much as I rate Lacazette as a player, I hope he continues his current form for as long as he remains at Arsenal.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

That would improve them if it happens, but I am struggling to see why players would want to go there. If Sanchez and Ozil are supposedly looking for a way out who are their best players remaining? An aging Cech, Lacazette, Ramsey? Why would you want to go there?Originally posted by dww View PostIF Arsenal sell Sanchez and Walcott and bring in Aubameyang + Malcom + Mkhitaryan I think they will have improved their team this window. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I reckon that they will have Thomas Tuchel in the summer..... and this window is setting them up for that with Mikhitaryan and PEA.....Originally posted by Rigadon View PostAnyone want to start a rumour linking them with Pochettino
If wenger stays on as DoF or something similar though then that would be a bad idea. Perhaps the French national job will come up after the World Cup and there could be a win win for all involved....

Wenger should have gone in the summer - You can see Arsenal falling and falling for the next 3-7 years. Power struggle up top, and very few decent players - Mikhitaryan and PEA are a sticking plaster. Too many good players have gone or are going.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostI reckon that they will have Thomas Tuchel in the summer..... and this window is setting them up for that with Mikhitaryan and PEA.....
