What did you all think of Gervinho?

If i were a gooner i'd be well frustrated with him, he seems to have the ability to find space and beat players but boy did he not have end ball.

It was his first game and the red card wont help, he'll probably improve, but can't help but feel we may have dogged a bullet missing out on him.

Balague has called pretty much every development in the Fabregas saga. The stick he gets is totally disproportionate.

Maybe he has on this one, I've not followed it. But a lot of the stuff he's predicted for LFC in the past year or 2 was total rubbish, or utterly derivative.

I think it's too early to tell; it's like Man Utd fans talking of missing a bullet with regards to Henderson. With regards to the penalty, he does get *slight* contact from Tiote and when I say slight, he clipped his trailing leg and he went down easily, but it certainly wasn't a dive. The reaction from Barton was more pent up from the Song stamp, which he had every right to be aggrieved about.

But then it's swings and roundabouts; if he's happy to dish it out, he's got to be happy to take it - much like how he has preached about people feigning injury and diving - yet he goes and falls over from a weak slap and has the cheek (pun slightly intended) to tell Van Persie he was punched and Taylor was going around saying it was an elbow.

Yes, the Gervinho red was the right decision, but it's the hypocitical drone that comes from Barton that's annoying. Perhaps he should go back to Twitter and pretending too hard to be the intellectual footballer.

As for Arsenal, it could be a great time to play them if we get our own **** in order.

Hmm, don't know about that mate. I think he is going to prove to be a great player and although it was only pre-season he looked like he has some very deadly finishing at his disposal.

He has a younger woman to keep happy allegedly. How fitting that his supposed girlfriend is younger and less attractive than his wife. Even in reality he chooses rubbish youth over quality.
