Thanjk you.

Leicester and Arsenal play completely differently for a start.
Leic let opponents have the ball and use the space for Vardy to run into and counter attack from that.
Ars are possession hungry and play intricate passing moves around the box, teams sit deep against them and there is no space. It's like all of Vardy's main assests won't be able to be used. He seems to be a good finisher so maybe they hope he'll get in the end of their passing moves and stick it in the net.
I always remember how good Torres was with us but when he played for Spain he didn't suit them. Villa was a better for because he played the tiki taka way at Barca.
Benetke at Villa vs Benteke with us - different styles again.
I know that, but Arsenal are also very good on the counter attack which is why the likes of Walcott and to a lesser extent Sanchez thrives. Leicester also didn't sit back the first half of teh season, they played on teh front foot and arguably that was when Vardy was better.
Anyway, I'm not disputing how Arsenal and Leicester play, but what skills does Vardy not possess that doesn't suit the Arsenal way?
There are question marks over if he can step up to the higher level, but that's not exclusive to Arsenal.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
The Leicester 15/16 version would be perfect for them (hard working goal scorer like Suarez) but it's unlikely they will get a repeat of that.
Edit: Their style has also been found to be ineffective (again why they wanted Suarez), so surely it makes sense to mix it up a bit?
Maybe, but Arsenal play in front of the defence, and Vardy is a pace merchant who specialises when getting in behind. Want an example of Vardy when a team doesn't play to his strengths look at him for England last night.
He's been good this season because that team plays to his strengths, Arsenal can counter attack, but they aren't a counter attacking team. And I doubt Wenger is going to change his entire philosophy for a 29 year old. As for Suarez he's an anomaly, they wouldn't have changed their style of play for him. Looks at Barca. Doesn't matter where he goes he's the type of player that can adapt.
Vardy's distribution isn't great, he's a runner and finisher, I played the exact same role in my Sunday league team once upon a time. Had a good season last year, but I really think he'll struggle to recreate anything near it, and would be better off staying.

If Vardy could repeat last season 3 years in a row, then there is no doubt he is exactly what Arsenal needs. Arsenal don't have the time to wait though (nor does he have time on his side), so I can understand why Arsenal might want to take the gamble. Judging by the signing of Welbeck and now this link, I'm assuming that Wenger wants a player who can play on the shoulder of the last defender as he thinks that will suit his style better. He's not going to get an Henry again any time soon, someone that complete, nor will he get an RVP, but a much ****ter version of both is probably the best he can hope for in today's market.

All he has to do is to repeat it for one season and win the league again surely? It'll be more than they have had for over a decade, so worth it.
All these three and five year plans in football are misguided misnomers. Nobody wins anything planning for the future. They win by planning for the moment.
LFC is entrenched and trapped by its history, and its never ending investment in potential.
It's basically time to **** or get off the pot.
As they say, the most important game is the next one. That should apply to seasons too.
Let's throw everything at the next season. Every. Year.

£20m this year is the equivalent of £10m or so last year. That is how crazy and out of control football inflation has become.
£20m is nothing these days to top clubs, it's probably wouldn't even be considered a big money signing now.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I meant 3 years with Leicester (or another PL club for that matter). Basically saying that I don't think it's a style issue, last years Vardy would be good for Arsenal, but the risk is that he's still relatively unproven and in an ideal world would have to maintain form for another year or two before making the move.
Anyway, it was well past my bedtime and I was just talking crap. In fact, just ignore anything I posted after about 3PM yesterday as I was just drowning my sorrows in post holiday blues.

This, very much this. I'm sick to death of 3-5 year plans, just go for the bloody thing.
