    Oh I don't know.

I wonder does playing for Arteta wear you down. Obviously loads of top coaches are super intense but Arteta seems a bit over-endowed with intensity and a large irritation factor and a bit less gifted in the charisma/inspiration stakes. If he'd won something, then that would probably change. Either way, it's pretty funny.

Didn't he win the FA cup with them in 2020?

I get what you are saying though he doesn't come across as a likable manager (even putting rivalries aside), the was a video going around social media of him in the dressing room really unhappy with his players after one game (suggestions were it was our game the other day but other people suggested it was another game earlier this season or maybe last)

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, he seems like he'd be an absolute nightmare to be around.
          Modifying post.

Also, I didn't watch the Arsenal documentary thing, but I heard it discussed on a podcast how in footage of a team meeting, it was really only Xhaka and Ramsdale that would speak up - one is gone and one is some sort of weird second choice now.

It sounds a bit crazy, but swapping Xhaka for Rice has been a real step backwards for them. Rice is a good player, but not for the type of football they play.

Nah not having that. Rice is another level and they will gst years out of him. Xkaha was a bit of a loose cannon and was always liable for a **** up and a few red cards

They ****ed 100m away with Harvertz and Raya though

60m for Ramsdale and Raya , Sells Martinez for 17m

                  SHocker that

Have a look at Rice’s progressive passing stats. They’re awful. He’s a great player, but not suited to a possession based side at all IMO…and certainly not worth the 100 odd million that could have been spent where they needed it.

I agree about Havertz and Raya, more wasted money.

Apparently Xhaka is doing well in the Bundesliga. And is keeping his powder dry too.

Just checked fbref and his progressive passing stats are in the 90th percentile for all midfielders. He’s also in the 92nd percentile for passes into the final third.

Which stats were you looking at?

It’s “throughballs” and “key passes” not progressive passes. Just checked.

Isn’t his primary role protector/controller rather than creator though?

Nobody really criticised Fabinho for not providing enough key passes or through balls when he was widely considered to be a world class DM - that wasn’t why he was in the team.
