He can use that to get another 5 year contract. Arsenal fans will love having another long Wenger (post 2005) period.

We came back from 3 goals vs peak Messi’s Barca without Salah and Firmino. They’ve been out of the league for 2 weeks now, he could’ve played the kids at home to Bournemouth but he went full strength and they still lost. He is ungracious and ****ing deluded - he’s quickly becoming more dislikable than even Guardiola

Arteta saying they have 100% been the best team in the CL this season

so that's 2 PLs and 1 CL in the last week
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think that if Arteta doesn’t win anything next season then the core of this team starts to fall apart and leave.

There are and have been some very dislikable managers but Arteta has to be up there. Not sure if he's deluded or if he's trying to deflect from his and their failure... maybe a bit of both.

I don't think his messaging is that of someone who's a proper leader. It's fine to comment about being unlucky or performing better than your results, but when you're talking about being the best team when it's not true, that you would have won with a different ball, that the referees are all against you, your opponent's got lucky with timing, etc, it sounds more like you're trying to cover your own arse than inspire your players to greater things. "We fell short but will come back stronger" is the message you want from your manager, instead he sounds like a fan on 606 trying to convince the world that it's not their fault they haven't won everything. He needs to get more out of his players, not tell them they're already good enough and they just need to wait for better luck.

Of course there are games or ties that don't go your way and sometimes the other team does get lucky and goes through undeservedly, but if you want to push on and be a top team you have to look at what you could have done better and seek to improve that, maybe it not being clinical enough in front of goal or a mistake in defence but those are things to be worked on. You can accept those types of comments in the heat of the moment as being poorly judged, but coming on the back of his comments about us, points totals and 2 PL titles as well as various other comments this season, it's a pattern with him and it looks like the pressure is getting to him.

                        100% agree.

I don’t find his tone to ever be one that resonates, his lack of ability to acknowledge weakness or even accurately state fact becomes tiresome. I don’t think that is what fans are looking for at all. It clearly resonates with the lunatic fringe (which is sizeable at Arsenal) but it doesn’t in terms of identifying a clear path forwards for them as a club. ‘We were the best, we should have won’ doesn’t carry you all that far because the bottom line is you weren’t the best, you didn’t win. Illustrating that you can handle defeat and outline a way forward as a visionary leader is crucial. Klopp was good at this, Slot is good at this and as much as we may have hated them so is Guardiola, so were Ferguson, Wenger etc.

Arteta may be a decent coach but he seems out of his depth.

Plus he always comes across as a ****ing ****, a charisma vacuum.

Arteta: PSG told me the best team lost.

                            Media: Did they?

                            Arteta: Yes.

                            Luis Enrique: No.

                            He’s not well.

The fact he chose to get the cameras in just adds to the cringe.

Isn't that from the Amazon behind the scenes documentary they did a season or two back?

I thought you were a big fans of such behind the scenes style shows?
