End of the day there was only 1 team to stop united in their tracks and that was Liverpool FC. It should have been done 20 years ago before the Manc machine went into overdrive but they were allowed to overtake us and now this is the result.

      Bye Bye Mancini
      It's a friendly game

The final hasn't really changed anyones opinions, united look good and man city look a bit of a mess. If push comes to shove mancini will go for the draw which in the premiership gets you murdered, yes i know they were 2-0 but my god they just set back and did feck all in the second half.

Chelsea: nobody knows how villa boas will set them up but hes a good coach so i think they will compete on all fronts.

Arsenal: looks a complete mess with nasri and fabregas wanting out, no real changes to the team but theres still a few weeks for wenger to rectify that.

thats how the others line up so far, so we need to hit the ground running against sunderland, should be a cracking season.

We need to focus on winning things ourselves that's the best way to stop the scum.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

read that De Gea had let in more goals than any other keeper in th primera liga from shots outside the box, can see why

Not really. Rafa would be an upgrade but he's not much different. To be honest the kind of things Mancini did today is exactly what I would have seen Rafa doing. Bringing on Gareth Barry to 'control' the game after throwing away a 2 goal lead

                Disagree.

Rafa would give them the tactical element of game that they are desperately missing.

With the type of players they have, he would walk the league.

I can see us competing with Utd again this season. We have a pretty strong squad at the moment and we're developing our DNA again throughout the first, reserve and youth teams.

Arsenal are ****ed, Chelsea are old (although will still be there), Spurs are burning and City are managed by a ****wit with good dress sense.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Norwich going for a top 4 place...

United looked excellent and genuinely looked like they have tried to take lessons from Barcelona - passing and movement was good. They lacked someone to run the game tactically and Anderson and Carrick abandon the space in front of the back four too much but as a first run out it was very impressive and they will blow most of the league away if they keep to that way of playing.

If Fergie manages to substantially improve the team without any first choice signings then it is possible his most impressive summer ever. It's not as if he has changed coaching staff as far as I know either.

I think some of the criticism of Mancini is still excessive but he wasn't as dynamic as you would need to be. I still think the City players looked leggy and would expect them to be better once the season proper begins.

It was depressing, but at least De Gea was ****

I know United fans who before Sunday were saying De Gea >>> Reina/Buffon/Casillas etc

                              lol

I kinda feel sorry - he's a young lad, under immense pressure and new too the country but as it's United i'll point and laugh!

Redknapp straight away was quick to point any blame for the 1st goal away from De Gea - but i bet you quite a lot of the media are licking the lips at a potential couple of howlers that they can sink their teeth into.

I really thought the first goal was as bad as the second - granted, a great ball in by silva......but de gea was all over the place, lost, he physically crumbled, he shrunk in size - as the ball is played in he moved forward one step and as it bends fair enough he takes a step back - but he then starts crouching, bending and just gets smaller so much so, that before richards has even got a touch, De Gea is no out of the game, and by time the touch is made, he's gone

You want your keeper to stay big for as long as possible.

That said...i've put in my fantasy football side.....However, not because i think he will be a world beater....i don't know enough about him to say one way or other.....But purely because i know United will no doubt have one of the best defences
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Aleadry a trophy Chelsea have failed to win this season. Surely Vilas Boas will be sacked after this.
