Thought he slotted in superbly today.

Yes he went long too much to Carroll in the second half.

But I thought defensively he was really good today, especially as he's only had one training session with the rest of the defence.

I think he's going to be an outstanding signing.

Looked very good to me too.

Very strong defensively. Didn't get any ball or a player pass him by and will be difficult to contain once he starts going down the left flank.

Needs little bit more time to get comfortable with what Kenny wants him to do and he'll be a very good player for us.

Arguably our best signing this summer.

He obviously hadn't trained with the lads too much so I think it was a case of keeping it simple and defending was his priority. Presumably once he gets to know the lads and the system better, we will see him get forward more, but I thought he did well defensively today.

That's a very balanced, strong defensive line. If somehow we can keep that five together for 30+ PL games this season we wont conceed too many goals.
