It surely comes down to the "gentlemen's agreement" he had under the previous ownership, to have his contract (salary) reviewed - and when FSG didnt do that, is when rumours of him wanting out came to light.

The truth is, if he was world class we would all be hating on him right now, calling him every name under the book. The reaction of the fans to him leaving shows his importance to us. That's why when Torres left, we slaughtered him. Now he's playing **** we don't care anymore.
