I think there is a player in there but like Kelly, his progress has been hampered too much by injury. He's now at the age where he needs a good run of games to really kick on but I just can't see him getting that here.

He's one of those players many fans would like to see do well i think.
Some you just care about their performance for the sake of the team, but with Coa'tez you want him to do well for himself too, because him being happy matters, and him being happy and a top top player for LFC would give more joy than say...seeing someone like....[insert name here] do the same.
Or, maybe that's just me.

Sebastian Coates to join Sunderland on season-long loan deal... ruling out the possibility of Liverpool's Fabio Borini sealing a loan move to the Stadium of Light

Liverpool have agreed to let defender Sebastian Coates join Sunderland on a season-long loan to link up with fellow Uruguayan Gus Poyet.
Sunderland have sorted out terms for the 23-year-old central defender who faced England at last summer’s World Cup and the move is to be confirmed officially on deadline day.
Coates becomes the fourth defender allowed to leave Anfield this summer following Daniel Agger, Martin Kelly and Jack Robinson, with manager Brendan Rodgers pinning his faith in Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure at the heart of the defence.
The blonde defender was signed by Kenny Dalglish in 2011 who said ‘we are looking for him to have a long career here’. But he has made just six Premier League starts in three seasons.
With Sunderland willing to pay a loan fee and grant him regular first-team experience, Liverpool have been happy to sanction his departure.
He is the second Uruguayan to leave Anfield this window following Luis Suarez's high-profile move to Barcelona. Ironically, Coates replaced Suarez soon after the striker had scored what turned out to be the winning goal against England in Uruguay’s 2-1 World Cup victory in Sao Paulo.
Poyet, who had also been linked with Manchester City defender Micah Richards, was anxious to shore up Sunderland's defence after failing to win any of their first three league games this season.
But it means Reds striker Fabio Borini can not return to Sunderland for a second loan spell. Premier League rules prohibit clubs taking more than one player on loan from another team.

Wants to stay in England... I think it is unlikely that we'll get a transfer for him, he's hardly played for Sunderland.
Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates ready to remain in England after Sunderland loan spell
Liverpool loanee Sebastian Coates will hold discussions with the club regarding his future this summer upon the end of his loan deal at Sunderland.
Coates has started just three Premier League games for the Black Cats this season and has not featured since the FA Cup draw with Fulham in January, one of only two appearances made in 2015 during a dreadful spell.
However, his involvement this term has been indicative of the 24-year-old's spell in English football with just two top-flight starts coming in his maiden season with Liverpool, while the last campaign was spent nursing a serious knee injury.
The former Nacional defender has confirmed his intention to return to Liverpool for talks over his future, which appears bleak after the 2014 summer signing of Dejan Lovren, but he has pledged to remain on English shores even if he leaves Anfield.
"During my time in England, I've not had as many matches as I wanted," Coates said. "When the year loan is over, I will talk about what to do next [with Liverpool]. "But my goal is to stay in England because it is the best football in the world. It's a very competitive league."
Coates has less than 18 months to run on his current Liverpool contract following his arrival in 2012 but with Lovren and Mamadou Sakho having both moved to the club, manager Brendan Rodgers could look to offload him on a permanent basis.
Liverpool signed Coates for £7m but are unlikely to recoup a significant portion of that fee as the player enters the final 12 months of his contract.
Having been sidelined by former manager Gus Poyet, his sacking has not improved Coates's opportunities with Dick Advocaat leaving him out of the squad entirely for his first game in charge at West Ham United.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

Signed for €30k/week in 2012 according to google, not sure it can have gone up that much since then given how much he has been injured & not playing.Originally posted by Rich View PostHe's probably on £50k p/w and knows he's highly unlikely to get that kind of wedge with his next contract.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Yeah **** him then. I'd rather earn 30k a week somewhere else and actually play. He's wasting his career.Originally posted by Rich View PostHe's probably on £50k p/w and knows he's highly unlikely to get that kind of wedge with his next contract.
Jose Enrique is another player that seems utterly overjoyed to never play football. ******s the lot of them.
