Just had a feeling we were on to a winner when we signed him and I reckon he's been pretty solid. Perfect timing to get him in especially with Carra on the way out.

He hasn't played much I know but this is not a matter of opinion, it's a fact in my book - he has been far more impressive at centre back than Phil Jones this season, who has been a near calamity in that position. Culpable for loads of goals, most Mancs I know don't ever want to see him play CB again. Sure he offers far more versatility than Coates, and looks okay in midfield, but based on this season's evidence alone Seba is a much better defender than him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Made one great reverse challenge in the box in the second half.

Great ball back in for the winner, our defenders are great, aren't they

Spot on here. I know loads of mancs who are scared to death of seeing Jones play CB for them. Coates has made maybe 2 or 3 serious errors for us, Stoke away in the Carling Cup is the most obvious, but i cant remember many others.

I'm not sure either has done it with a consistent set of players around them long enough to judge really. Look how much Evans has come on this season just by playing consistently with Ferdinand (who looks to have worked out to play with less pace now). I like what little I've seen of Coates though and hope he gets more chances alongside Skrtel as the season comes to an end.

i am a bit worried that when skrtel plays with Coates that skrtel has to play on the left side though.

but promising signs from the coats lad!

The block on Hoillett after he had twisted inside him.
Excatly the type of tackle Carra used to make week in week out but isn't capable of doing anymore.
It may sound strange but for me Coates oozes class and composure, he has the calm air about him that Sami Hyppia always used to play with.

Whereas Carra these days plays like he's done 4 pills and a gram of speed

Albeit he had an important contribution to the last goal, but why wasn't he in the box?

I like Coates but have a sneaking suspicion that if he wasn’t foreign he wouldn’t be getting half as much praise as he does.

if an english lad had scored that goal, everyone would be creaming the media.

definately. i only praise the lad cos hes Uruguayan. i would slate him if he was english, and detest him if he was a Scouser

Because both Agger and Skrtel went up for it.
