Good old Bill. He's a proper blue you know loves the club and is the right man for the job. LOLOriginally posted by Charly View PostWHy the **** would Everton sell their best player with no time to sign a replacement. You at least need to leave a couple of hours for a panic buy with the proceeds.
****ing old fool. they need to wake up and realise that Benny from crossroads is running their club right into the championship. Baines will go as will Jagielka. I think they are in serious trouble this season.

Bolton wanted Defoe in exchange for Cahill

Bolton boss Owen Cahill slammed the door shut on Gary Cahill joining Tottenham - by demanding Jermain Defoe in exchange.
Coyle was approached by agents representing Spurs and asked if there were any Tottenham players he wanted, with winger David Bentley and defender Sebastien Bassong the men on offer.
However, the Trotters' chief refused to lose England centre-half Cahill solely for cash and let counterpart Harry Redknapp know he would have taken striker Defoe instead as part of the move.
Bolton are happy to keep their man, who is in the final year of his contract, after seeing off both Spurs and Arsenal in the last week of the window.
Cahill will be offered a new deal shortly and may be sold in January’s window if he refuses - especially if a Champions League club tries for him.
Coyle was backed in his decision by Bolton's chairman Phil Gartside and owner Eddie Davies - the man who has kept the club afloat with his financial backing for the past decade.
Busy Coyle ended a positive day by signing striker David Ngog from Liverpool in a £4million deal.
Like fellow new boys Nigel Reo-Coker and Tuncay Sanli, the Frenchman took less cash for the chance to play for Bolton. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
