Not sure what his problem is....
Chelsea's John Stones bid angers Everton boss Roberto Martinez
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has criticised Chelsea for publicising their bid for defender John Stones.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho confirmed his interest in the 21-year-old England international, saying: "We made a bid because we like the player."
The Toffees are reported to have rejected the £20m offer from the Premier League champions.
"There is the disappointment of a club making a statement to the press and making it openly," said Martinez.
Speaking after his side's Asia Trophy final 3-1 defeat by Arsenal, Martinez added: "I don't think we'd do it and speak about a player. John Stones is an Everton player, full stop.
"We are not a selling club. We are not a club that needs to be worried about what other clubs put through the press."
Stones, who made 23 Premier League appearances last season, still has four years to run on his current Everton deal.
But Mourinho made no apologises for his approach for the player, telling Sky Sports: "When the transfer window is open, every club and player is open to bids.
"Bids come for our players and we make bids for other players. The process can be so simple.
"I would advise Roberto Martinez to do the same thing I do. If I don't want to accept any offer, I say 'I don't accept any offer'. He can make it very, very easy."What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Yeah but he should be used to it by now!Originally posted by danperkins View PostStones looks a great prospect, not surprising Mourinho sees him as a the next Terry. As regards Martinez reaction, i'm sure he's just worried he'll lose a very talented player. What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

It sounds like they know he is going to go it's just a matter of time and money. Martinez is saying he's not for same to bump the price up when the deal happens. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I hadn't seen this before, but apparently they are having a testimonial for Duncan Ferguson in a couple of weeks. And Rooney is going to play for them, because Ferguson was his hero. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Those Martinez "we're not a selling club" comments from a couple of days ago are about to look pretty stupid when Chelsea bid £34m for Stones.
£34m for Stones! **** me! Snatch their hands off! For a club like Everton they could get 4/5 players in for that.
Martinez really does come out with some absolute bull****.
