Maybe he was crying because they won't let him go to Chelsea and earn millions.

EVERTON have turned down a £20 million deal for Ireland defender Seamus Coleman from french side Paris Saint Germain.

According to TalkSport, the Toffees rejected the offer following other bids from Manchester United for the full-back earlier this summer.

Everton’s rejection is line with their stance of not selling any of their high profile players before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

Coleman signed for Everton from Sligo Rovers for €60, 000 in 2008, putting the latest French bid in perspective.

Despite speculation over his future, Coleman has already signed a new long-term contract to remain at at Goodison Park.

Everton’s rejection of the PSG deal follows Jose Mourinho’s failed bid for Coleman’s backline teammate, John Stone to move to Chelsea.

That rug really tied the room together.

Would they even know how to spend £60m?

Just because takes them 20 years doesn't mean it won't be spent.

Fair play to them really. A club in the position they are in, to stand firm over such large amounts of money is stupid admirable.

If there is a sell on clause I bet Sligo Rovers are not overly impressed!

                                Serious question.

Is Everton the club; worth much more than 60 mill ?

edit: Not in the top 20 anyway, with Gala at No 20 coming in at 294mill.
