The prices being quoted for Baines say more about the dearth of quality left backs rather than his quality IMO. He's good, but not great.

But he is quite correct. It is ridiculous that the transfer window is still open now that the season has started and you only have to look at how Sky portray the transfer window to see that it is a circus. EPL is fast becoming, if not already there, our equivalent to the WWE...Originally posted by john316 View PostSounds like Robby Martinez is getting flustered already!

They got £6m for him?
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

yeah it put a bit of a dampner on what was a funny a transfer window
£6m for anichebe is unreal, however i think it's not as straight forward as that, sure i heard that there is quite a lot that that needs to happen for it to rise to £6m
but looking at the the squad, i'd say keeping baines was probably more important than fellaini.
yeah fellaini can be effective but apparently everton fans have been slating him for ages saying his attitude has stunk, and i seem to remember us all laughing at him not long ago for basically just walking round the pitch doing **** all in a game for them - Baines has been a good pro for them and i don't think they could have found an adequate replacment, where as with fellaini going but two centre mids and a big/good striker coming in, they covered the two areas that fellaini contributed too imo.
if they football isn't working, they can go long to lukaku if they need, and i think barry and mccarthy really make a big improvement to their central midfield.

doesn't look too bad to me - not a great squad tho
defenders - alcaraz and heitinga
midfielders - gibson and osman
attacking mids - naismith and delofeu
forwards - kone and jelavic
other than that i don't think they have much.
similar situation to us, in that, if they can their starting XI fit and playing in as many league games as possible, then they have a chance to do well.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Apparently that is if all the add-ons come through. If any of them are performance related then it seems unlikely they will have to be paid.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostThey got £6m for him?

the barry and lukaku deals are the ones that have annoyed me - i'd take both of them at the moment - would just give us that extra depth in the squad, and experienced midfielder and a goalscorer who would offer something a bit different to sturridge and suarez and who i believe is much better than Aspas and Borini(although i know he's moved on)
i am happy more or less happy with our business - but i'd have been extremely happy if we had signed a centre mid and another forward as well
