    Seems fine to me.

      Pah.

If you want to complain about abuse of the system, then it's probably better to look at implementing a quota system rather than complaining about the whole thing being corrupt and open to abuse.
      Oh I don't know.

The player has a say too, Lukaku could have gone to WBA again but he chose the bitters. Barry had a few clubs to chose from too.

i agree in part with the loan system

it's the obvious 'abuse' that is frustrating.

chelsea for example seem to sign players with no reasoning other than they do want rivals to get them - they then just loan the player to whoever for a couple of years.

then there is proper taking the piss - even maureeninho(that's just for you dom ) said his best transfer deal in the summer was loaning lukaku to everton.

why? - cause it's a player he doesn't want. And he knows he's strengthened a team that won't challenge them for the title but will help them out by taking points of title rivals.....but also when it comes to chelsea playing everton, the player can't play.

i have no issues with everton benefitting from it. I also think loans for younger players is key for development

basically the issue is certainly in england, is no real monitoring to stop chelsea and city buying anyone/everyone with no fuss and then doing what they want, be it ruin players by sticking in the ressies or just loaning them out for three years
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think a quota system would be relatively simple to implement. You could set a limit of say 30 on the number of professional playing contracts a club can have at any time outside the transfer window, with another limit of 25 players registered to play in competition. That would leave a maximum surplus of five players who could be loaned out.

If you want to loan in 25 players and follow a suicidal short term strategy, then that'd be your choice.

This would reduce the amount of hoarding, pimping and whoring of players, and would also result in the the market being flooded with cheap ex academy players who are not good enough to play for City or Liverpool but still have a solid future ahead of them. This would help smaller clubs pick up these players on longer term contracts relatively cheaply.

            Bingo!
            Oh I don't know.

this is the worst abuse of the loan system. almost like having a sleeper at another club. maureen taking crucial points off title rivals. all very dirty.

Just put a limit on how many players you can loan out - say 5 players. That coupled with not being able to loan to other same tier teams would probably be the most effective rule changes.

A quota system to me seems hard to administer.

i'd maybe have an age/english thing in place for players in the same league/tier??

only allowed to loan english 23 and under between teams in the prem? - it stops the big clubs buying all the young talent but then stopping their development by just sticking them in the ressies?

A sensible solution. Far too sensible for the FA however.

Exchanged a few messages with my Everton supporting mate. He really wants them to miss out on CL football so it costs us the title. I told him I just couldnt get my head round it. Bizarre

I know one like that too. Wants them to lose to City. Told him he might as well stop calling himself an Everton fan and just describe himself as anti-Liverpool. Anyone But Liverpool.

My mate in work is still exactly the same. Says seeing us win it is making him ill. He's desperate for them to throw the City game if it means we don't win it. Also says he hasn't watched even a minute of our games since the Arsenal match (when he decided we'd win the league).

I swear he's a really nice lad, but I find his opinion on this appalling if I'm honest. Surely he wants his own team to be in the Champions League next year?
