Some excellent news, for us at least anyway

Manager Sam Allardyce wants to stay at Everton beyond this season, despite recent speculation over his position.... "I know all about Everton and what you have to achieve. I want it to be a long-term appointment...I came out of retirement because there's a long-term plan that I was excited to be a part of"

not sure if true, but was discussing this with a bluenose at the weekend and said he will walk away with 6million if he is sacked at end of the season, not bad work if you can get it

I did not realize how much I like Koeman until now. Apparently, he and the Dutch FA have worked out a deal where the Dutch FA pay him a low salary forcing Everton to pay up the rest

Everton have been stung by a managerial severance package once more.

After Roberto Martinez received an eye-watering one-off payment of more than £10million after being sacked in May 2016, the ECHO understands the Blues are still footing the bill for Ronald Koeman's recently-terminated contract.

Unlike the Catalan's pay-off, Koeman's arrangement could prove to be a little more intricate.

With Everton making up the difference between the wages he would receive from a new employer and the £6million salary he was earning on Merseyside, they were perturbed to discover the Dutch FA have agreed to pay Koeman less than 10 per cent of that £6million.

That means Everton will have to make up the remainder of that hefty sum, while the Netherlands shell out a salary which is only marginally more than the bosses of Switzerland (Vladimir Petkovic) and Iceland (Lars Lagerback) during Euro 2016.

The deal Koeman signed with Everton still has a further 16 months to run.

Using data released by the French before the last major international tournament at Euro 2016 - and with the acceptance some of these contracts will have changed, with Gareth Southgate earning less than Roy Hodgson, for example - the brazen nature of the Dutch's low salary to Koeman comes to light.

According to these figures, Martin O'Neill earns more with Ireland, while Austria's Marcel Koller is also comfortably earning seven figures. Even Bernd Storck, of Hungary, was earning more than Koeman is now.Koeman would not make the top 10 of managers at Euro 16 - and it's for Everton to make up the difference. For now.

Everton, who have declined to comment, were infuriated when details of Koeman’s Dutch salary emerged and the club is seeking legal advice.

                                That is quite amusing.
                                Oh I don't know.
