Not with the new stadium within 12 months - Ripe for a takeover, Stick in to admin, take 2 years in the Championship, invest little and you could be sat on a premium asset.

I'm sure they got a fixed price deal on the stadium, so Eve + new Stadium for les than £900m could make sense

If the stadium was finished and paid for maybe but I'd suspect that doubles the cost.. And then the prospect of relegation again if they have to start in the championship on -10 points and much more strict financial controls than the PL enact.

Stat/Trivia attack!

After the games on the weekend of 17 January Everton were on the longest winless run of any team in the top 6 tiers of English football - The Football League (92), National League (24) National League North/South (48). A total of 164 teams.

Of the 88 teams in tier 7 (Northern Premier League, Isthmian League Premier, Isthmian League Premier Central, Isthmian League Premier South) only 1 has a longer run without a win and another last won on the same day

Of the 120 teams in tier 8 (Northern Premier Leagues East, West, and Midlands, Isthmian Leagues North, South Central, and South East, and Southern Leagues Central and South) 1 last won on the same day and a further 4 on a longer run.

1 of those 4 won tonight (Sittingbourne of the Isthmian League - South East Division if you care). So, of the top 372 ranked teams in England 4 have waited longer for a win and 2 last won the same day.

The absolute worst run of the top 164 teams and worse than 98.1% of all teams in the top 372!

Assuming they fail to beat Arsenal or us it will be 18 Feb before they play again and I'll have to start looknig at stats from leagues such as Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division and the Essex Senior League
