Everton are only 3 points better off and 8 of the 10 teams they haven't played yet are current in the top 11. Burnley have played 6 of the current top 10.

Never a sure thing to work out that way but considering who has played who Everton should be worried.

And yet City's 115 charges have been all but forgotten by the powers that be...

        pure corruption

Totally dodgy as **** alright...... If Evertons defense is to protest at the double standards, then how funny would it be if the powers that be actually agreed with them, docked city as well and they still got relegated with us winning a few leagues

Would be nice to think that Everton are the sacrificial lamb for the main event slaughter of City.

Sorry, struggling to come up with a decent analogy in McDonald's this morning.

I think that there is alot to unpack here, I think if this case were to be taken in isolation Everton are the type of club that would be ideal to make an example of - they are an established PL club (rather than a new to the league or yo-yo club) they have a long PL history and are still regarded (historically at least) as a big club, and punishing them wouldn't significantly affect the quality of the league as they aren't in contention for the title or CL places etc. So from the PL point of view they would be an ideal club to punish and send a message out saying 'we take this very seriously'.

BUT this case can't be taken in isolation, the question that pops up everywhere on social media relating to this is well if Everton can get a 12 point deduction what will happen to City with their 115 charges. In regards to I would be very surprised if they are found guilty of all the charges, the question is whether they are found guilty of any of the serious ones or whether they will just be found guilty of not co-operating or what. I suspect that the maximum penalty for City would be relegation but that isn't purely up to the PL and there are other factors in play, City's owners talking about this to the government etc. I suspect that the worst penalty City would get going forward (they could be stripped of titles etc but that is quastionable) would be something like 30pts, but I don't see anything worse. They can't give Everton 12pts if they only give City 30 if found guilty so I think any Everton punishment will be in the context of what they would do to City of they were found guilty.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Everton being used as a benchmark. It’ll be a fascinating video celebrating that

Might be a few more getting stung with point deductions then.

                      Not City obviously

It’s not enough of a punishment. It should be automatic relegation plus compensation for relegated clubs.
