Friend of mine goes to a lot of their games... infact he was there today... I must ring him tonight

Anyway he reckons its Fat Freddie the fans will go after not Roeder really, primarily because although they may be thick even the Geordies can recognise that it was the sacking of Robson and bringing in of Souness that started this collapse.

They've been shockling at St James this season so far, they really could be in some trouble as their away form is consistently poor

Why on earth did they appoint Roeder? I mean where did they get the idea he could do a good job? He took West Ham straight down. He doesn't even have the relevant qualifications to manage.

It could get worse before it gets better for the barcodes, word is Fat Freddie wants Sven

Yeah TBH I think those rules are a bit of a joke, but maybe there is something in them.

Sven will save them if he goes there, although I think Freddie will keep Roeder till the end of the season for fear of a backlash from the fans. Unless of course he gets a world class manager, and we know the chances of that are about zero.

Those stats are misrepresentitive, they don't include the away fan allocation.

Look on the bright side Owen might actually have a chance of winning a trophy next season. The Coca-Cola Championship

You have got to feel sorry for him, I mean he left a team which went on to win EC and FA cups, was at the most "glamourous" club in the world and was looking forward too a fantastic World Cup and now all he can look forward to is recovering from injuries and a relegation battle

Although 130 grand a week (or whatever) sort of softens the blow a bit

To be fair he did a good job in his first season at West Ham. He is a well respected coach and to be fair he will basically turn up and collect his badge next time the course is run.

I think it was a very sensible decision to bring in a good coach to try and steady the ship and build a solid unit. The trouble is that it appears the transfer policy seems to be completely insane - and not driven by the manager. I can't imagine that Roeder would have chosen Duff over the ability to add another central midfielder. I can see why they went for Martins but I think that at the price they paid they probably needed to get two players for that.

Also they did wait until the summer to take him on full time. Roeder did do very well at the back end of last season, even managing to get them in the UEFA Cup.

Being serious for a minute I reckon they could go down.

Sheffield United are the worst team in the Premiership on paper, and they were much better than Newcastle yesterday. Apart from Scott Parker there's no fight there. The manager's clueless and they have no defence, but we already know this.

I'll freely admit I'm indulging in a spot of shaudenfraude. I'd love it if they went down. All we hear about is "how great their fans are" and "how big a club they are". What a load of bollocks.

Truth is they'll go the way of Leeds and Notts Forest.

As for Owen, either way he's leaving them next summer. And we all know too well that his recent claims about wanting to repay Newcastle by staying are complete rubbish.

So were West Ham a few years ago.

And who was the manager back then?

I do think Newcastle have better players than West Ham back then though....although West Ham did have Di Canio and usch like I guess.

I stand by what I said though .
