Yep my Villa mate summed it up almost exactly like that. Said Downing was 7 or 8/10 every week, Young veered from 9s and 10s to 4s & 5s. He preferred Downing for what it's worth.

I believe the last Villa player to chart either a 9 or a 10 in a game was probably Peter Withe in 1982.

For what its worth I like the sounds of how consistent Downing has been, and hope he can take his game on a stage. I think KD's plan to have brought in players with good stats from the PL is a good one. To my mind Downing may not grab as many headlines as Young, but could possibly end up a better signing. We shall see.

This does look promising indeed, I was sceptical of Adam but it looks like I was totally off on that. I like Downing though and I'm very pleased to see how well he fits.
