Out of interest what is the average record for a manager?
Obviously not a fan of Lawrie Sanchez but all of the teams he has managed might be expected to be midtable or worse I would have thought.

Oddly enough I was thinking of him when I was writing that, I can't think why

I don't know, I imagine that if you consider the the team in the middle of the table to be average for that league, looking around a few tables at the moment typically the team in that position win as many as they lose, I'd imagine that you could look at managers records in a similar way. An better than average manager would win more than they lose, a worse than average manager would lose more than they win. Obviously draws also come into it as well, using a similar method it seems that the team in midtable averages about 1.3 points per game (based on looking at the average of a few tables).
On this basis that Lawrie Sanchez loses more than he wins and averages 1.19 points per game I consider him to be a below average manager
