Classic Hodgson and classic punditry on Final Score.

"They were very good. I'm disappointed we went in two nil down, two poor goals. I knew then it'd be difficult. I was hoping we'd show character and we did, but unfortunately we shot ourselves in the foot, conceded a poor goal. I'm disappointed that we didn't defend the long ball through the middle better. We have to do better than that when we are defending. That's...y'know. We had some good possession around their box towards the end though. Showed character. We didn't cave in. They're the positives to take from this, but we were unfortunate to come up against a very...a...a cavalier Swansea side and we were deservedly beaten."

Garth Crooks - "I think it's a very honest and fair appraisal by Roy Hodgson there and you have to respect what he has to say. They were well beaten by Swansea today."

Good old Roy. He never loses.

****ing nail on the head or what???

            Also on YNWA:

There are some poor deluded souls on there (if the cap fits!) who hope he'll soon see what is and isn't working, realise that the good things they did last season weren't like this, they weren't as vanilla, as 442, and change his ways.

Change his ways? The cheeky Danish, Swedish, Icelandic or Italian tw*ts! He'll have to remind one or two of them of his philosophy in life.

              playing for a point
Sad to say that the scousers were right and we have been reduced to playing for a point away from home and got found out by a very poor team today.

Hate to say it but you get what you deserve.

Someone needs to educate Woy that this isnt the baggies way, our prem away record is s**** but at least the last three twonks tried.

He is the master of deflecting blame from himself, often heaping it onto his own team in the process. An absolute ****ing ****house. Can't stand him.

I wonder how close he was to calling Swansea 'formidable' before changing it to 'cavalier'

Wenger said: "It is terrible, it is just not good enough. Of course we are very frustrated, the spirit in the team is quite willing but if you look at the number of goals we have conceded that is not good enough.

"You cannot come here and concede four goals the way we did today, but we did"

"On the other hand I believe that the group will take off but it's important that we get quick results."

The defeat is likely to spark further questions about Wenger's future at the club, but he refused to get drawn into such discussions.

"Speculation is part of modern life, what can I do about that?" he said. "My future is focusing on what I do well and that means giving my best for the club. I have no influence on the speculation with regard to Roy Hodgson."

The second half was a different story - after the own goals, Yakubu struck from close range for his second and at that point Blackburn had still only had two shots on goal but were 4-2 up.

Wenger admitted the defence's frailty was a big worry.

He added: "You cannot say you have no worry when you see the performance we have put in today. It's just not defensively solid enough because there were to many big gaps and own goals"

"Overall we created many chances, even in the second half but we had a lack of focus on what we knew they were strong at - corners, free-kicks.

"Overall we lost a game where we scored six goals and that's quite disappointing."

Brilliant.....all that's missing is some blame to be apportioned directly to one of his players and his weekend's work is done.
