Do you not see the irony in bemoaning current ticket prices, yet backing something which will see them rise further?Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostAnd it will appease those who cant afford to spend £40 on a ticket before any transport costs. And clubs will have to learn to cope with less money.
Are you a deranged sea lion if you sit in the pub watching the game on Sky Sports, or is it just because its 3pm on a Saturday?
And those pub folk are obviously quite welcome to enjoy the game down the pub. For as long as their club stays in business, that is.

With 54,000 posts you dont seem like you'll back down so I'll conceed by saying I'm ****ing gutted. I wish Sky won. I hopew more people who cant afford a ticket are also told to go ****ing whistle if they want to watch their team in the pub.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostDo you not see the irony in bemoaning current ticket prices, yet backing something which will see them rise further?

Of course, there is always the point I made about how clubs will have to adapt and perhaps realise that charging £300 a ticket to make up for the money they wont get from Sky isnt going to fly and maybe they will stop paying ****ty carthorse journeymen £40,000 a week. Perhaps we'll get a few less mercenaries and a few more people that play for the gameFootball without Origi is nothing

its not about liking sky, high prices but the fact is their a clubs supply line for cash, and clubs will have planned that money into their future and Everton have even sold their next 2 years worth of payments.
If this was announced now and brought in in 5 years clubs may survive, but this is likely to be more cut throat.

This case has been going on for six years. Any club that finds itself in difficulty because they haven't planned for the possibility of this verdict is, by definition, badly run.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostWith 54,000 posts you dont seem like you'll back down so I'll conceed by saying I'm ****ing gutted. But it won't matter because Sky and the FA will find a way around it.
I suppose we can expect lots of scaremongering from them though. It just surprises me a few fans seem to have beaten them to it..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

second line makes the first invalid, even you think it wont happen so why will the clubs apart, from city and chelsea who have bags of cash from elsewhere that money is being spentOriginally posted by Neil Young View PostThis case has been going on for six years. Because it doesn't.
Although I really don't understand the rest of your post. So could you rephrase please?.

you say the clubs have known about this for 6 years so they be able to adapt, however you agreed that the law is never going to change so why would the clubs think its going to change theyve kept on spending the money. Everyone will be buggered except City/Chelsea. If this is going to happen it needs to be announced offically and phased in, unless we are going to see a footballing bail outOriginally posted by Neil Young View PostBecause it doesn't.

I see. It seems to me that the non sequitur is in your argument, not mine.
I think any club that hasn't made contingency planning for this is badly run.
However the fact it won't change anything means it won't change anything, not that Man City and Chelsea will be all right while everyone else is f*cked. (There's your non sequitur.)
And if you think it needs this for Man City and Chelsea to have a massive unfair advantage then I think you're mistaken. They have that advantage whatever happens about rights.
I think your fears are groundless.
As will be Everton, with any luck.

If they're badly run then the executives are responsible for the mess they're in, not this ruling...
I'm orff to my basket.
