It's just funny that you get so riled up by something so unimportant

The biggest issue with 3pm kick-offs is the totally ridiculous cost to watch lower league footy.

Take my local team - Stockport County. Ok they were a league team until this season and have sunk very quickly, if I want to trot along to catch a game it'll set me back £17.

                £17

                Ridiculous

Anything under a tenner and they'll attract local footy fans that just want to catch a live game. Over that and they don't IMO.

It's the same with AFC Wimbledon, who are about 10 mins down the road from me...

£15 to stand, and £18 or £19 for a seat. Stupid prices for League 2.

Fundamentally, and not surprisingly, the premier league an the rise of the football 'super brands' has hit the lower end of football. I Doubt Stockport are banking loads of profit at those prices. I think people just need to accept that there is no going back and there are too many non amateur teams in the county related to the demand. when there is top level football available for a month on tv for the price of a Stockport ticket, it's not good value entertainment. Nothing is going to reverse the trend unfortunately.

They still get big crowds though. You should go more often.

I wonder how much the average Stockport player gets paid?

I would go, if the tickets were about a tenner, which i think is fair for a club who i dont support and, emotionally speaking, dont really care for.

As you say, they have a big fanbase and the demand is there for them to be able to charge those prices and still sell out.

Funnily enough though, their commercial director is a business contact of mine and as such, i could conceivably get a freebie if i wanna go down there, he's invited me in fact, but i've just never gone to the effort yet.

As it goes, he's getting me a free copy of FM 2012 too

Average wages from 2006. Surprisingly high.

                              FOOTBALL

The Premier League announces it will "resume actions against publicans who are using European Economic Area foreign satellite systems to show Premier League football on their premises unlawfully and without our authority".

"It is clear that the law gives us the right to prevent the unauthorised use of our copyrights in pubs and clubs when they are communicated to the public without our authority."

Seems to differ from the legal opinion given by the EU Advocate.
                              Football without Origi is nothing
