ah yes who would have thought

Well The British. The same people as the Lawrence of Arabia. The same ones who 'united' the arabs against the 'turks'. The same ones who divided the 'al-sham' peninsula into nationalist sovereign states, who had no kings to rule over them. Where once they were united, where borders did not exist[how ironic that we have the euro with the same principals] . Fast forward less the 80 years and 2 generations and we have the 'Arab spring' hmmm I wonder what would have been the situation if they where left on their own.

Not even Darwin could have predicted that. The evolution of a stadium to man's carnal desire to shag.

Then the French would have done it.

How far back would you like to go? Perhaps we can examine the Ottoman expansion into the Balkans and North Africa too.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Man City do bring a lot of their own added value to the naming rights of the stadium. It wouldn't be worth as much as a running track and car boot sale venue.
