    South Africa WTF!!!!

This is incredible. Watch as South Africa celebrate their qualification for the 2012 African Nations Cup, only they hadn’t. You see for some reason the players, coaching staff, South African Football Association president Kirsten Nematandani all thought that the job was done. In fact rather crazily the national team coach has stated that he had been playing for a draw, not knowing that a draw wasn’t enough to qualify. Niger did in fact make it out of group G due to their head to head record. South Africa have lodged a complaint to to CAF, which is an odd response given that they had not bothered to double check the rules.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

tbh, it's a bit of random rule, it's not head to head between niger & SA, but between 3 teams!!!

Still you should never play for a draw at home.........

Niger, who had never previously qualified for a Nations Cup, made history despite losing 3-0 in Egypt on Saturday thanks to Article 14.1 of Caf's 2012 Nations Cup ruling. This states that 'in case of equality of points between two or more teams after all the group matches', the greater number of points obtained in matches between the concerned teams shall be the first deciding factor.

Niger top that three-team mini league, with their six points one superior to the tally mustered by both South Africa and Sierra Leone

Wow. The entire coaching, managerial staff should be let go.

Coaches at mini football level would not leave this "small" detail out.

Worse things have happened from our government, never mind our sports teams...
