Thank goodness there's no chance of Portugal, Greece, Ireland and Italy being drawn together. The 'Group of Debt' joke is tedious enough when you've heard it once.
That's a really clever way of telling a joke you know many have heard, but can't reisist telling anyway.
i really like watching the germans, they were class against brazil a month or two ago as well.
I'll put it out there, I actually prefer watching them to spain - whilst i do think the spanish/barca tipa tapa football is out of the world - Germany a lot more direct, quick attacking football, with more width and it's more exciting.
The German system in the last world cup reminded me of the Rafa LFC system. Especially when they mugged England. Game of the tournament that one. (Not just because England were hammered, I thought they were genuinely unlucky come half time - a brilliant game)

It's true though. Tell me you're not already wishing you hadn't thought it was a good joke when you first heard it.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
The quality in this is why I prefer it to the Euro's. Brazil, Argentina & Uruguay aside, there's no really great teams missing. While there's a whole host of **** that wont be missed. Host nations shouldn't be seeded though, unless they deserve to be on footballing merit.
There's going to be at least one, probably two very tough groups.
Joint hosts shouldn't get two places either. They should play each other for automatic qualification with the loser getting a second chance by going into the normal qualifiers.
If Ireland every hosted a major tournament and weren't in it themselves for whatever reason, it wouldn't stop me going to as many other matches as possible.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

My only annoyance with these upcoming Euros, is that the earlier games will be kicking off at 5pm - which is somewhat inconvenient. What was wrong with 6pm and 8pm?

First time I heard it.
But I am sure it will not be the last...

5 PM you can go straight to bar and enjoy the match.
6 PM you can go straight to bar at 5, enjoy the match, but have to check teletext the following morning to find out the score.
I’m all for 5.
