Not much to it imo. The initial tackle from coloccini wan't that pretty and Rooney's kicks looked worse than any actual damage caused.

I actually think, for once, Rooney's innocent here.

When he pulls his leg back to swing for the second time, the ball is clearly still there. I think his intention is to kick the ball, but it gets kicked away before he swings.
