Probally depression mate, which is an inability to extract joy out of any thing no matter how much one has none of it means a pile of beans if your head is not processing information right

Unbelievable. Such a promising start to his managerial career, great football career behind him.

If it's depression it just shows how it can lurk undetected i suppose and just rear to the surface. Who knows though, just speculation at the moment.

Yeah, it could be anything really and there's no point us speculating.

            It's very sad.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Gary Speed - 2nd highest PL appearances (535), 2nd highest capped Welshman (85), 133 pro goals and a 50% win rate as Wales manager. Legend.

Oh yeah i'd considered that, but it's just amazing to think a person with so many good things happening, and a seemingly happy persona could be that way underneath, enough to do this hours after talking about his plans for the future on tv.

That's the enigma of depression i suppose.

Maybe it wasn't suicide. Maybe he just had an accident at home, it would make more sense.

                      No point speculating on suicide

Yes, it's one of the most horrible experiences a person could go through

Lots of people could go about their business and you wouldn't suspect they were struggling to find meaning and happiness in their lives.

I've known two people who've committed suicide. 'Why' is the obvious, immediate and sometimes unanswerable question. Tragic.

Dreadful, why Gary ? Thoughts with you and your family. Decent man, good footballer and sadly missed. RIP
