Right, remembered a few years ago my mate said his mate managed Garforth Town & had got Socrates to play for them, so checked & this is the story:

I think my mate knew him from trips over to Brazil that he'd made and he got Socrates over to England for a bit of publicity for his soccer schools and also Garforth Town. Get him to play for 12 minutes and he's in every newspaper in the country - easy!!
