Meireles? I thought he was a good player and i think he still is. He has the same kind of intelligence and technical ability as Maxi. A proper footballer.

Loads of good players at Chelsea being made to look **** by a manager who, frankly, is out of his depth.

Was an decent enough player that was getting games with us, now he's a decent enough player, that is not getting games and has an absolutely ****e barnet! Not fussed he left but was good squad option.

He put in a few good performances, but at the end of the day he wasn't up for the competition that he saw from Charlie Adam, Lucas, Gerrard and Henderson. You could also add Spearing, and there was talk of another CM coming in from france.

In all fairness, if someone says they don't want to stay, then you can't really hold them against their will. It was poorly timed, and i'm not defending Raul in any way but just like the Torres transfer we need to and have moved on.

An established Portugal international with a good number of caps, who's played in world cups, was scared of competition from Charlie Adam, Spearing and Henderson?

Clearly he wanted the pay rise he was promised by the previous regime and decided he wanted out when he didnt get it. Simple as that really.

Meireles was good for about a month, the rest of the time he was ****.

Meireles was an excellent football, surprised at the amount of people that don't seem to rate him.

IMO if he was still here he would start over Adam, or indeed start behind Suarez in the absence of Gerrard, was a good passer of the ball and read the game very well. the only real criticism I had of him was his tendency to shoot when there was other options on.

The only good thing Roy brought to this club IMO.

Meireles wasn't an excellent footballer, he was mostly diabolical. He did have a purple patch.

He was a complete ****house. I hate players who have no bottle, he really excelled for a handful of games - the rest of the time he was dire. I don't understand why Chelsea came in for him, we didn't need him and I couldn't care less who he plays for.

He was! Not the type of player I appreciate at all, too weedy and gutless. If he had consistency he could be a decent footballer, but he doesn't. He's a ****house that turns up for the odd game when he feels like it.
