Rooney ban reduced

It is an absolute disgrace, it was done in malice with malicious intent, whereas for instance Spearing's red card was just an unfortunate two-footed lunge and gets 3 match ban. Not that I'm appealing on Spearing's to get reduced. But Rooney's was a red card 3-match ban if ever I saw one. Well, nothing new in the corrupt world of football there!

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You can't blame them, but it does raise an interesting question...Originally posted by Alex View PostIt was a UEFA decision though. No. But the next lad in this country who's sent off for kicking someone will get a 3 game ban and if he dares to appeal it the FA will raise the ban not reduce it, theres the problem.Originally posted by Alex View PostIt was a UEFA decision though. Cant blame the FA for appealing it can we?

Well the FA is in charge of bans for players in the English league, as well as for appealing against bans against the England team from UEFA/FIFA. Do the FA believe that Rooney's challenge didn't deserve a 3 match ban? - in which case similar appeals from clubs should also be successful. Or were they prepared to kick up a fuss just because it's a situation that affected them negatively, in which case are they justified in punishing clubs or players (with further bans) for doing the same thing?Originally posted by Alex View PostWhich is?The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

LoL, these are rhetorical questions. It would *SHOCKHORROR* mean that the FA might be two-faced, deceitful, yee ol' double-standard, each other backslappin' brethrens of hell!Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostWell the FA is in charge of bans for players in the English league, as well as for appealing against bans against the England team from UEFA/FIFA.
