Yep. The best thing is that it all feels like his fault. He can't have any complaints about not being backed either. He seems to really think by force of personality alone he can make Rooney a top player again. Other than the poisonous relationship with people in the club it already feels a lot more like his last season with Chelsea than any of his more impressive runs.

Hopefully after another few bad performances and failed long-ball tactics, Zlatan starts mouthing off and it kicks off from there.

Knowing their luck, Rooney will probably get injured soon and he’ll be forced to play Pogba there, get some good results and hailed a genius again.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'm not sure that Pogba is the answer. He has amazing peaks but his usual output has always looked pretty average to me. He also seems to have some of the issues Gerrard had at times - all of the attributes except tactical awareness and no defined position - making him hard to fit into a team.

The United squad seems to be full of players you need to build a teams tactics around in order to get the best out of them - Fellaini, Pogba, Rooney even Zlatan to an extent at this stage (I might include Mkhitaryan based on Dortmund ups and downs but I didn't watch them). I'd have though a 4-3-3 with Mkhitaryan and Martial behind Zlatan and Pogba in the deeper three would be the closest you could get. I would imagine individual quality will see the through a lot of games but at the minute I think they are unlikely to be able to challenge for the league and possibly not even top 4.

          I hope you are right.

Despite thinking he was overpriced, my big worry when United signed Pogba was that Mourino recognised an obvious weakness in the team and had identified the perfect player to strengthen, just like he did when bringing Matic back to Chelsea. If Pogba had a similar impact, he’d be worth the money.

I’ll not be popping the champagne bottle just yet, but hopefully this is a continuation of last year’s Mourinho and this is another major balls-up from him.

Already hearing rumblings that all's not well there - they've flattered to deceive so far. Their first 3 wins were against teams they really should be beating, as soon as they played a good side, they capitulated.

There was an interesting couple of paragraphs in the Rick Parry section of the Si Hughes book, where Mourinho's agent turned up at Anfield to talk players with Houllier. He asked to see Rick Parry on the way out and said that Mourinho wanted to manage Liverpool, and whether they would sack Houllier so he could take over. Parry said he didn't like the way LFC were approached (this would have been early 2004), so dismissed it out of hand.

He'd have been rubbish for us. As his time everywhere else proves. He needs endless cash to have any chance of being a success.

He was desperate to manage us and spent half of 2004 begging for the job. It's why he hates us now.

Mourinho said: "Liverpool are a team that interests everyone and Chelsea does not interest me so much because it is a new project with lots of money invested in it. I think it is a project which, if the club fail to win everything, then Abramovich could retire and take the money out of the club. It's an uncertain project.

"It is interesting for a coach to have the money to hire quality players but you never know if a project like this will bring success."

Hilarious quotes given how his career went.

It would be amazing if Watford done a job on them this weekend, even a draw would be lovely.

Capoue, Deeney and Ighalo are all in great form and with their tails up. This will NOT be an easy game for Utd since they are on a low themselves with questions being asked of their big name signings. Perfect storm.

lost 13 out of his last 31 games-has third season syndrome started already for him? Already trying to throw his squad under the bus and looking moody and miserable in the press-and its only 5 games odd into the season

Rooney is finished as a top level player, he is only in the England and Scum squad on reputation, he is actually hindering their play and he is no deep lying playmaker. And as for Pogba, the poor boy just looks lost at the moment, he doesn't know if he is to hold or attack or link play, they would do well to get a Modric type player in to try and balance things out a bit and give him definition as to what his role is. Right now pogba seems to want to try and beat 5 players and arrow one into the top corner and be a circus act.
