Smacks a bit of corruption doesn’t it. Easy to believe that some of the agents cut could be finding its way back to FIFA officials.

Setting a maximum % on any transfer would seem an easy and smart way to do it.

Its money for old rope as well.
Not sure its corruption buts its obscene

FIFA, UEFA, FA & Premier League are all looking into imposing a maximum % on agents fees in relation to transfer fees

Apparently there was a set % years ago but the authorities scrapped it

Thats got to be a catastrophic decision by them

To me it should be Max 5% (maybe even lower)

Considering they get 10-20% of the players wages and signing on fees also its ****ing criminal

And yes it is money for old rope

This is the bit that makes me suspect a bit of corruption.

If a % of the % is kicking back to the officials that make the rules it would hardly be unprecedented in football.

The Agents are becoming (are already) far too powerful in football. The money sloshing about in the game just isn't right. The BT money is massively suspect. They receive £1.7bn from the Government to modernise infrastructure and all of a sudden they are buying up all the football coverage.

That is the figure that FIFA reportedly leaked after announcing they would be investigating the deal

Does seem odd that they scrapped it for whatever reason

The fact is that ALL the authorities would have to be complicit in something like that

Not beyond the realms of possibility though

The more I read about Raiola the more shocking it is

Read the paragraph about Mkhitaryan in this article

Yep, just chuck some brown paper bags of money at a couple of key influencers like has happened for recent World Cup bids (Russia and Qatar ) and the jobs a good un.

No surprise that FIFA HQ is in Switzerland imo.

                  From Wikipedia - quite ironic

In August 2016, after closing the world record transfer of Paul Pogba to Manchester United, Raiola made a reported €25 million from Pogba's €105 million transfer; he bought the former Miami home of one of America's most famous mob bosses, Al Capone, for €9 million.[12]

Barkleys agent got £7m from a £15m deal

I was reading that Joorabchian might have got nearly £30m from the Coutinho sale to Barcelona

The authorities need to limit the amount agents cream off the top of transfers. IF the players wish to pay their agents exorbitant amounts thats their problem but the huge proportions of transfer fees they cream off is shocking

So we get £30m less of the overall transfer fee or does that mean Barca pay that to the agent on top of the transfer fee to us?
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

surely its only a matter of time before one of these cunty super agents buys a club?

They can't due to a conflict of interests but a lot of clubs are in bed with agents who pay most of the players wages while at the club.

Porto & Monaco were the big ones in Europe with loads like this in South America.

Joorabchian owns or part-owns Corinthians and looked into Arsenal at one point IIRC.

I think it was a partnership with them hence Tevez and Mascherano ending up there for a couple of seasons.

In 2004, Joorabchian founded Media Sports Investments to make a partnership with Brazilian football club Corinthians.

This is where it becomes murky

We will definitely be paying some of that probably at the very least 50%

Even when we didn't want to sell and Nike and Phil were bending over backwards to make up any gap? (that's a question by the way. I don't have the foggiest.)
