Think it's a bit of that but also the millstone they've saddled themselves with in Sanchez's wages. Herrera is a horrible little cunt but he does give his all - and yet he's had to watch Sanchez sitting on his arse taking home double what he does.
Everyone knew what would happen after United offered Sanchez around £400k a week and a £75k appearance bonus (!!!). How could Woodward not see it? The likes of De Gea and others all want huge pay hikes. The ineptitude, alongside the mindblowing sums of money, is amazing and totally incongruous.
Its like in Football Manager when you're desperately trying to fend of the Barca's and Madrids from your young wonderkid, so offer him astronomical wages to stay....only for the rest of your side to then demand pay increases and moral goes down the drain when you cant afford to.

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
He's totally out of his depth. So clueless it's worrying they may actually sack him tonight but hopefully not. They are no threat for a good few years.
The hope is they know they need a clear out. And that may be.
Hopefully they replace the likes of Pogba with Daniel James and the rebuild is cursed. I don't really want to talk about what they should be doing, only revel in what they are doing.
Manchester United have only kept two home clean sheets in the Premier League this season, their fewest at Old Trafford in a top-flight campaign since 1962-63.
United have finished 32 points behind the champions this season - more than they finished behind the top-flight winners when they were relegated in 1973-74.
**** me, that second stat shows how times have changed . . . and not just for them.
