With only the domestic competitions to concern them and 1 game a week, if they get a bit of luck with injuries, I think they're an outsider for top 4.

I think we need to see how they play the first half dozen or so league games before making any proclamations.

On paper they appear to have sorted out one of their main issues from last season - lack of goals

The midfield and defence would still be a concern if I were.a.fan of theirs.

Keeper is dodgy as ****, McGuire.is still going to get regular time at CB. Fernandes will still stroll about in midfield watching the opposition glide past him and they still have 4 of the 5 'troublemakers' that the manager wanted shot off at the start of pre-season in their squad.

No way they get close to top 4.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

They will definitely be better than last season and I would be surprised if they don't finish in the European spots (the top 8 or whatever it equates to position wise now). Next season I would fancy us, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea to make up the top 4, but I think Man Utd will be in the group below that and could easily be the side that finishes 5th.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Fernandes is a **** but his distance covered is always in top 5 or top 10 in the league. It's a myth that he's lazy.

They'll 100% be better this season which isn't hard in fairness. Quality added to the squad and no distraction of Europe.

Not sure i said that Fernandes was lazy.

I stand by my assertion that he allows opposition players to get past him with relative ease. Too many times over the last few seasons he's not tracked a runner and his team have subsequently conceded.

I can't stand him but he works his bollox off and does alot of defending, stats seem to back it up. He's still a prick though

£50m upgrade to Carrington. Add to think they made hundreds redundant to stop the club going under by Christmas.

Would make their money back by getting the training ground sponsored.

These rumoours about Baleba and Donnarumma wont go away either.

That would make a seriously good window for them.

Yeah they’d be more than half decent with this lot. Still they are taking an eternity to move on the troublesome ones that will hurt there financials.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

So much for everyone claiming UTD wouldnt be able to afford to buy players.

                            Who's everyone?

From what I recall it was the Billionaire minority owner who was the one proclaiming this time last year that the club had to make a third of its workforce redundant or there was a very real threat they could fold.

That was certainly the Ratcliffe justification/narrative for sacking dinner ladies and pulling funding from their former players foundation at the time.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

                                Yip

Coupled with the begging bowl coming out in order to secure public funding for the Circus tent stadium.

If this summer has shown anything it's that they're in pretty rude health financially
