I'm assuming he didn't want to wait until the summer because he wants to go to the world cup, playing at Man Utd (whatever their situation) has to be better for his chances of that than sitting on the bench at Chelsea.

I know he was desperate to leave and wanted to play in the world cup but I really don't think he and his agent thought this move through at all. He can't leave in the summer so he's quite probably going to flush 18 months of his career down the drain before he can leave for a CL club.

He could leave next January for a team in the CL it's looking doubtful that he'll be cup tied

I think there's a good chance they'll get rid of him in the summer, and they should look to replace him with someone with more experience, someone who has managed big clubs and has experience at international level, that way they can get back to where they belong.
