    Cantona, 58, also criticised Ratcliffe's plans to bulldoze Old Trafford in favour of a new ground instead of redeveloping their spiritual home.

    He added: "They even want to change the stadium. The stadium is iconic. For me, Arsenal lost their soul when they left Highbury and I'm sure a lot of fans miss Highbury.

    "Can you imagine Liverpool playing in another stadium than Anfield? It's impossible. I don't think United can play in another stadium than Old Trafford."

    no, but they contributed to the stop at the campus - It was a phase 3 part of the metro link to go beyond

    So Andy Burnham has come out an said no public money to build the circus tent but we may blow billions on moving stuff to accommodate the new stadium.

    Thing is - I can't see the benefit of regeneration here - its a ****ing industrial estate - Where are the benefits here - TBF to City what they have done with the Etihad complex has brought benefits and its also been financed by City's owners.

    Wouldnt surprise me if there was a scam from big jim in there somewhere..... Like he owns the stadium but manchester united rent it off him for a couple of hundred million a year. With him saying united would have gone under otherwise but in actual fact, he is jist a vulture.

    He goes on about being a boyhood united fan but nobody mentions the fact that he tried to buy Chelsea a year previously...... Who also needed a new stadium
