It probably has as much truth as all the other half dozen players that just slipped through their grasp already this summer
Indeed, it's already been rubbished though that still hasn't stopped complaining and criticism of Lovren because "Man Utd have signed Hummels for cheaper"
Mats Hummels to Manchester United for €20m? Forget it, says Jürgen Klopp

Jürgen Klopp has ruled out Manchester United signing Mats Hummels and has said that Marco Reus will not be leaving the club either. The attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
Manchester United are reportedly keen on bringing Hummels to Old Trafford but Klopp is confident that the central defender will start the Bundesliga season with his current club.
“I can assure everyone that there are no signs that those two players want to leave. Marco and Mats will play for us the next season,” Klopp said on German TV on Wednesday night.
He added: “What are we talking about today? Mats to Manchester United? For how much? €20m (£15.8m)? With those kind of sums can you forget that straight away.”
Manchester United, who are currently in the United States on their pre-season tour, have already signed Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw this season but the new manager, Louis van Gaal is looking to strengthen his squad further ahead of the new season.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Besides it wouldn't be Klopp who makes the decision in any case. Hummels is a good CB......some deficiencies to his game, but he would be a strong purchase for most teams.

True, but Southampton have our number in this transfer malarkey. So nothing would surprise me .
Speaking of which, Dejan's palms must be sweating a bit now after his ill advised, IMO, outburst about where his head is. Stuck in preseason waiting on a phone call I'd imagine.
Bless him......how does he manage ? Probably should buy himself another ivory backscratcher to cheer himself up.
