Even if Ferguson stayed I wouldn't fancy them for the title next season. So when Moyes starts losing a few games, playing ****, negative football, and lumping it up to RVP and Fellaini, the United fans will get restless. Totally new territory for them, out of their comfort zones and a new manager in - with no United connections - who's won absolutely **** all. They'll turn on him by Christmas if it's not going well. As red_g said ealier, they could be in for a rude awakening and it's going to be fun to watch.
    It certainly will be!

Now the ****s know exactly how it feels to be us and what we've had to put up with these past few years.

Can't wait for next season and watching United struggling playing **** boring football ha ha!!

Any possibility of us signing Rooney?

We, as Liverpool fans, have been crowing about the end of the empire for ****ing years now. So Fergusons gone? So what. Hate to say it, but they'll still be competing for a while yet. There isn't going to be some cataclysmic fall from grace like we all want to happen.

The team is greater than the sum of its parts and they seem just as motivated to play for United as they do for Ferguson - he instilled that in them, it was a huge talent he had.

Them being finished is closer but its not imminent.

"longevity" seems to be the buzzword for this appointment, brings back frightening memories of "experienced" and "will steady the ship".

The key is the Glazers who even with their debts will throw money at the project, all being said they are well run club - now if they had a dimwit like Moores being led by a ****wit like Parry the story may be different.
          We come not to play.

I agree, one of uniteds strengths is that they always seem to be mentally strong even if they actually don't appear to be that good on paper as say man city/ Chelsea. That won't leave them next season but I think and hope it will fade after a while.

Moyes is being built up by the media so they can tear in down in 12-24 months time. He is a good manager imo but not good enough to succeed fergie. I despise ferguson but I think you have to respect his achievements that unfortunately do make him one of the best of all time. I really hope his move upstairs back fires and that he in some perverted way is partly the architect for the demise of his team by interfering/ undermining future managers.

Him going is massive in so many ways, it will have a huge effect, no, they wont disappear into mid table obscurity, that would be too much to hope for, but nor imo...will they be anywhere near as dominant as they have been under him.

Everyone in the game not for utd will feel empowered, i'm just a bit suspicious that the time he decides to step down, is the time all top positions in the english games halls of power, have been filled with life long utd fans, like...just incase they need a helping hand during this most important of transistions in the clubs history.

Seeing him having tantrums as he has to chase Nemanja Vidic hoofs would be amazing. And playing as a second left back in big away games would go down really well.
