Lots of vectors, pivot tables, trigonometry and a little bit of algebra thrown in there for good measure. I think I put an equilateral triangle in there at one stage but then scribbled it out and drew a pair of tits.Originally posted by dom9 View PostHmmmm. Would that be because it's just some made up numbers?
All in all I'd say it was air tight mathematics

IMO the question marks will be about Blind, Herrera and Rojo. Falcao and DiMaria are proven talents (although much will depend on Falcao's knees).Originally posted by PTP View Postit looks impressive on paper but i'm not sure how it's going to work and how they are going to fit in all these attacking players...
rooney
rvp
falcao
mata
di maria
januzaj
can't play them all - they'll all want to play and they'll all be on ridiculous wages.
i'd guess their best XI would be something like
-------------------de gea----------------
rafael---------jones------rojo--------shaw
--------------herrera-------blind--------
--------------------mata-----------------
di maria------------falcao----------rooney
which looks strong - but a lot depends on how shaw/blind/rojo can settle because Jones is **** and the defence looks weak.
squad wise they'd be left with
valencia
smalling
evans
young
carrick
fletcher
RVP
Januzai
so rvp and Januzaj apart it's not inspiring.
also it all depends on how van gaal wants play - it's a big gamble and if it doesn't come off it could be disastrous for them. anything other than top 4 having spent that money will be deemed a failure
Blind was the player of the season in the Eredvise but Assaidi was also good there, Rojo comes from Lisbon which is also a poor league and I wasn't "wowed" by him in the summer either, then there is Herrera who by all accounts didn't have a particularly good season for Bilbao. I don't think it's a given that these players will all adapt and prove good purchases.
LVG didn't have any established playing style for the new players to adapt to either so it could be more difficult for them to make their moves to a new league.
Just another point that I thought as I was typing this, has Falcao ever played with a partner uptop? Hasn't he always been his team's focal point of attack? Can he play in a partnership?* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

This is true. It's undeniable. But sad, it is not. Apart from the actual outcome that is.Originally posted by Pablo View PostAt least mine was simply my year of birth.

I watched about 10 minutes of that programme once. The themes in the games made about as much sense as Duncan Oldham's riddles. Or the clues in 3 2 1.Originally posted by Rich View PostI'm an Only Connect fan, it pays to be subtle.Oh I don't know.
