It seems that certain Manchester United fans’ penchant for ordering banner-towing aircraft has reached another level altogether – international fan group ‘United Reel’ have apparently raised funds from all over the world to pay for a plane to fly over Villareal’s Madrigal stadium during Real Madrid’s game there next weekend, which will tow a banner with the message ‘Come Home Ronaldo – United Reel’.

The group have said that they hope the banner will show Ronaldo how much United fans still love him and want him to come ‘home’ to Old Trafford, in these apparently uncertain times for the Portuguese at the Bernabéu. At least they’ve had the presence of mind to pick a game with an afternoon kickoff for their stunt.
