Or the fact he says he wasn't even aware the contract of one his star players was running down ?

Certain other managers would be clubbed to death with that comment.

I doubt that it will change that much when he retires because he will still have so many dirty secrets on the FA and referess.

I'm not surprised that Ferdinand wasn't charged when he applauded the referee after the Real game.

What about that DBF? Nothing wrong with that eh. It ok to do if you are a United player.

The FA had nothing to do with the decision not to charge Ferdinand, in fact the CL is usually a pretty level playing field and that's the reason Fergie can't handle it and has won it twice. Which considering their dominance in England and the time he's been there is ****ing poor AND he knows it.

I think it's easy! He's poison to the league and he's corrupt. Bullies the media and the old boys club don't seem to give a **** as long as he's kept happy.

Chumpions League: How the Special One triumphed over the Tactically Ordinary One at Old Trafford

Brian Reade looks at the contrasting fortunes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho

The epic scale of Sir Alex Ferguson’s managerial success is often spelt out in bare numbers.

In 38 years he’s won 35 major honours including 15 English and Scottish League titles, and four European trophies.

But as he sat in the bowels of Old Trafford on Tuesday night, distraught after that shattering defeat, one number will have been pounding away inside his skull: Two.

That’s the number of times he’s managed to defeat Jose Mourinho in 16 attempts.

It’s also the number of European Cups he’s won, despite 20 years of trying, at one of the world’s biggest clubs in an era when English football has never been richer.

And it’s still one less than Bob Paisley.

No wonder he felt speechless. Just short of an hour into the game he must have felt the Mourinho and Paisley monkeys sliding off his back, silencing those who doubt he’s the greatest manager of the modern era. And then his side was down to 10 men. And what happened next gave succour to the sceptics who argue that the master of domestic football possibly lacks the sophistication to become the equal of the true European Cup-winning greats.

Whereas Mourinho looked like a gem-thief in a jewellers’ shop, immediately replacing his right-back with Luka Modric to exploit the new-found space in midfield, Fergie looked like a punch-drunk bar-room brawler.

He staggered around, arms waving, seeking answers from the fourth official and urging the fans to bawl them over the line when he should have been clinically analysing how to counter *Mourinho. It was like staring at Ally McLeod in Argentina.

The siege mentality from the touchline made his players retreat in confusion and they were killed in 12 clinical minutes.

What’s been lost in the rage against the Turkish referee is that Real Madrid, who were having a mediocre night, still needed to score twice to win, at Old Trafford, with only half-an-hour left. Sure, United were down to 10 men, but Chelsea showed how to overcome that handicap last season after the same ref red-carded John Terry at the Nou Camp.

If Fergie’s defence is that he didn’t have the players on the pitch or the bench capable of stifling an average Madrid side for half an hour then whose fault is that?

This is, after all, the squad he described before the tie as the best he’s had.

Yet in the past two seasons it has only played two games outside of the Champions League group stages. And won neither. Does Fergie lack that extra dimension, that cool detachment you need to consistently succeed outside of your domestic comfort zone?

Twice in recent years, against the Barcelona of Messi and Co, he’s looked utterly bereft of ideas and meekly surrendered.

Yet Rafa Benitez and Roberto Di Matteo have both knocked that Barca side out of the Champions League, and Arsene Wenger came close.

Mourinho’s nauseous post-game PR act could only have rubbed salt into Fergie’s wounds. He doesn’t need to be patronised by a rival 21 years his junior about the better team losing.

He knows, that over three hours of football, one poor decision doesn’t change the *incontrovertible truth the winner is the winner.

And Mourinho was the winner because he was the most tactically-astute manager when the tie was up for grabs.

Leaving him on course to win three European Cups with three different clubs.

Now that really is epic *managerial success.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Fergie's got no class! Rafa Benitez says Manchester United boss lacks 'education' after handshake snub

Chelsea 'interim' says he was waiting for Sir Alex Ferguson to observe pre-match ritual, but the old cunt blanked him!

Rafa Benitez reignited his feud with Sir Alex Ferguson by accusing him of lacking "education” for refusing to shake hands before the 2-2 FA Cup draw.

Chelsea interim boss Benitez said he was waiting to shake Ferguson’s hand by the Old Trafford dug-outs prior to kick-off when the United boss allegedly blanked him.

Benitez was waiting for Ferguson in the tunnel with a photographer nearby looking to take a picture of them.

Ferguson simply ignored the Chelsea interim manager and when the photographer asked the United boss if he would stop to shake Benitez’s hand, he responded with a terse “No”.

And the Spaniard, who has clashed with Ferguson in the past, implied the United boss was uneducated for refusing to observe the pre-match handshake ritual.

Asked if Ferguson walked straight past him, Blues boss Benitez said: “Yes. I was waiting. I was waiting for him. I was waiting at the beginning.

“Ask him. I was waiting, there was nothing wrong.

“You have to ask him [why he didn’t shake hands]. Ask him. You are brave enough, ask him.

“I was waiting, I have some education. I was waiting, I have education because I know a lot of people are watching, so I know what you have to do.”

United boss Ferguson, who does not attend domestic post-match press conferences, was not asked about the handshake controversy but admitted United were fortunate to still be in the FA Cup.

That rug really tied the room together.
