It'll be interesting to see how they go on Wednesday, Olympiakos despite a decent first leg performance are pretty ****, the Utd players know if they play well they'll turn that around. On the flip side if hardly any of them like the manager its another perfect chance to get him the boot but it's their last CL campaign for at least a year unless they can somehow fluke it. Decisions, decisions for the players.

it has happened so fast - thats why i've enjoyed as much of it as i can whilst it happens....

there is surely no way he can turn it round now.

the only thing keeping him in a job is United/Ferguson don't want to lose face and sack, which would mean them admitting they ****ed it up.

The other thing though, i did say this before Moyes was appointed....none of us know whats going on behind the scenes, and for all we know they've (ie the board) have accepted that they can't afford to do a quick rebuild job (ie, hire a top manager and give £200m to spend) so the rebuild job is going to take 5 years and that none of the top managers around where interested in this sort of project.

for example - again i said this at time....there is no way on this earth that conversations between Mourinho and United did not happen....even if just off the record between ferguson and mourinho.......United, top club losing top manager, mourinho top manager leaving top club - there would have been some dialogue and i reckon (purely speculation on my part) that it would have gone like....

MUFC - Jose, are you interested in taking over United?

Jose - Yeah sure, however.....i know the united squad well - you have 5 or 6 players over 30 that i need to replace now with top class players, plus the squad needs a bit of reshuffle - i reckon i need £200m to £300m over the next two/three windows to do what is needed.

MUFC - Sorry Jose, not sure we can fund that. we can give u about £50m to £70m for this summer/january.....maybe buy two/three players???

      Jose - hmm i think i'll pass

where as moyes, would have signed a deal withouth hesitation

Tbh I think Olympiakos will completely fold if the Mancs score relatively early. It's gonna be fun to watch - hilarious if they lose/go out, pleasing if they scrape through. No lose.

There was a passage of play, approximately for 10 minutes or so in the second half, after our second goal, when they kind of played quite well. Mata was more involved in their build up play, basically going more central (as he should be doing) and dictating their play. They had a few good half chances - one occasion where Van Persie missed his header from quite close range and another one when he volleyed wide albeit marginally offside. During that passage, Rooney and Mata were quite dominant. They have the ability undoubtedly, but maybe now their board have realised that Moyes is not the man to get the best out of them.

I reckon if he goes, they'll be a force again next season, if they manage to shore up their defence.
          Are we winning?

Just watching the game now and love it when vidic berates Sturridge for diving then his reaction to the red card

Even their own players are trying to hurt Moyes

                  who knows though....

firstly depends on who they get in as manager?

secondly, this new manager still has the same issue - vidic/evra/rio/carrick/giggs/van persie all into their 30's and need replacing.....plus nani/young/kagawa/fellaini/cleverly/hernandez - they either want to leave or are just not up to it...

so there is still a lot of work to be done, and if they get it wrong it will just get worse.

And on top of it - there is attracting top class players without champions league football...the possibility of playing in the europa which seems to really disrupt league campaigns and finally they are paying rooney £300k a week!
