The problem they have is who out there would risk joining a sinking ship, anybody who has the credentials like Klopp etc would not touch them, whoever is chosen would still be compared to the great god of whiskey.

They would only attract BR type of managers who are up and coming and want to prove themselves. Laudrup would be ace but somebody like Martinez or the Southampton manager would be more likely.

We'll secure second place with three historic nil, nil draws before getting lucky in a penalty shoot-out in the last 16, before being handed our arses in the quarters. And Roy Hodgson will slap that on his CV with glee.

I'm not sure any new manager will still be compared to the alco. Moyes has been sufficiently **** that anyone coming in and performing better will be hailed as the second coming.That will be attractive to good managers,though hopefully not the very best managers.

We all said in the summer that top players like RvP wouldn't take kindly to being shown what to do by berks like Phil Neville. I can't believe us amateurs have been proven entirely prescient yet the people running Manchester United couldn't see it coming

In fact am off round a Scummer's for the Manc derby. His missus says it'll be odd cos only the Citeh fan coming will be true to his allegiance for the game. Utd fan will also be supporting Citeh cos he wants Moyes sacked (why he's not actually going to OT), and I'll want scum to beat Citeh so Citeh drop points and Moyes stays in situ. Haha.

Only 17% of those polled feel it's down to the current manager while 40% blame his predecessor PLUS: 'Chosen One' banner threatened

Manchester United fans blame former boss Sir Alex Ferguson for the club's current predicament under his beleaguered successor David Moyes.

A poll of fans conducted by United fanzine Red Issue has revealed 40.57 per cent of the supporters quizzed hold Ferguson, who hand-picked then-Everton boss Moyes as his replacement and insisted on the former Everton manager's appointment, responsible.

United owners, the Glazers, have been blamed by 32.55% of those canvassed, while 17.45% feel it is Moyes' fault that Premier League champions United being in seventh spot, 18 points points adrift of leaders Chelsea.

A further 4.25% feel it's down to United's players while - somewhat surprisingly - only 3.77% consider chief executive Ed Woodward to be responsible for the club's current plight.

Despite their vocal support for their team as they slid to a humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, United fans are becoming increasingly disillusioned with their regression under Moyes.

If the Old Trafford giants go out of the Champions League to Olympiakos on Wednesday, the board will come under renewed pressure to act by sacking Moyes.

The Manchester derby next Tuesday against visitors City would then be likely to decide his fate.

One group of supporters are even are ready to rip down an Old Trafford banner hailing Moyes as ‘The Chosen One’ if the Reds come Acropolis against the men from Athens.



The flag was installed at the Stretford End by supporters at the start of the season as an endorsement of Ferguson’s decision to select Moyes as his successor.

But growing disillusionment with the 50-year-old Scot has led to many fans wanting him out.

Mirror Sport has learned there are plans to remove the banner if Stretford End Flags - the group responsible for producing it and putting it up - do not pull it down.

The group today said it would resist calls from fans to have it removed and urged United supporters to get behind their team, irrespective of their feelings towards Moyes.

The Stretford End Flags official account today tweeted: "Tonight's focus should be on supporting the team, giving support to inspire the team to victory.

"Calls to take the Chosen One banner down will not be considered and the banner will remain up tonight as a symbol of support for the team, as we expect from the fans vocal support.

"We fully expect the Old Trafford crowd to be behind the team tonight as we seek victory on the pitch. Any removal of the banner will be seen by fans, the players and worldwide media as a call for the manager to go. Not needed during the game."

I can see it now.......a massive brawl in the Stretford End as some try to pull that banner down, others try to hold onto it..ends up being ripped etc etc. Live on Sky Sports.
