They'll have a much better structure under van Gaal than under Moyes so they'll be a much bigger force next season.

I think he'll make them quite a tough side to beat next season just by getting them organised again.

Not sure yet tbh, everything points to that being the case, and they will be better; how could they not be!

But i'm not sure they'll be all that either.

Also, does playing for LVGall put some players off maybe, do some not like the regimented regime, being treated like a school kid?

Luke Shaw had a right come down Turns up as a very expesive signing, probably expecting to be lauded as the next big thing, then is told your not fit to train with us let alone play!

Oh I don't think they'll suddenly become world beaters again but they've got the firepower to score goals and I think he'll make them a lot harder to score against than last season.

LVG I imagine it's pretty much marmite with players you either love him or you end up finding an ugly doll and sticking pins in it, if things don't go as they hope for early season he'll cause all sorts of waves there

Looking forward to him and Fergie crossing paths

That's the hope for sure, if it go's right, everyone buys into his methods and reacts accordingly instead of throwing tantrums; and causing bad blood among the sqaud, then they will improve significantly.

If not, then it will be a sight to see.

they really need some players though and they seem (from an outsider) to be struggling

              gk - de gea/lindergaard - sound

rb - rafael i rate, but no real cover other than smalling or jones out of position

cb - smalling, jones, evans - not great is it - desperate for at least one top centre half maybe even two

lb - shaw, huge potential but going to be a tough season for him - no real cover for him

              midfielders

carrick is getting on (33) - fletcher be out for so long - cleverly/fellaini ****

              am
Mata, herrarra januzaj and valencia give them pretty good options

              fw
rooney, van persie welbeck decent enough

but then they have the likes of Young/Nani/Zaha stealing a wage and Hernadez and Kagawa wanting out.

              don't think i've missed anyone?

if they get one or two good defenders and top centre mid then i;ll worry

Fellaini's off i think, speaking to a club now i heard.

They will spend, big, it's just when, LVGall said he wanted to give everyone a chance to prove themselves, how long will he need to do that before shipping loads out and bringing new players in.

Although didn't take long with Fellaini.

A Midfield 3 of Kagawa, Mata and Herrera could cause problems for a lot of teams. Same with Van Persie at the front of it. But defensively they need a total over haul.

They will be challenging for Top 4, because I honestly dont think they are as bad as Moyes made them look. But losing Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra from that defense has got to hurt them.

Yeah as PTP and you say, it's their defence, sort that and they have a very very good side, but in need of cover still.

Well they need new players for their defence, and then options off the bench for the other positions.

They seem to be in much the same position we were when Rodgers came in. Few good players under achieving and then some bilge in the squad that needed clearing.

LvG will need to be pretty strong with his vision, but in 2 years you would expect them to be back to near the top.

A United fan I was talking to the other day insisted that Herrera was a box to box midfielder that negated the need for them to have a proper DM in the side.

He also was very negative about our chances next season, it's amazing that the arrogance has resurfaced in the wake of LVG taking charge.

they're too big a club and LvG to good a manager for them not to be

however i don't think it's going to be as easy as some people think (utd fans/press etc)

Hugely arrogant and cocky fans. It never really disappeared, as soon as Moyes was gone they thought they'd win the league again. I still think they're in for a nasty surprise.

Thats not really exclusive to them. Most seem to think we will take a nose dive this season.

just such a shame moyes collapsed so quickly it was painfully clear it was going to happen. But hoped he could drag it out a bit quicker

however they still have some issues.

                                lost key experienced players

                                weak defence

need a couple of options in midfield

Paying Rooney £300k a week!!! this surely can't be overlooked and must be causing issues when they look to sign new players......eg - a top class centre half and a top class centre mid - will want what? £150k per week each........that'd be £600k a week on wages on 3 players!!!

Add no Champions League football for at least one season, it's going to sting - if they do miss out on a couple of players this year/don't make top four again....it'll only get harder.
