He's the first player they've signed who actually improves a couple of their weak areas depending on where he's played. Herrerra has time too I suppose. I'd expect blind to be left back until Shaw sorts out his burger obsession.

Watching MUTV, Man Utd restrict media from asking Di Maria about letter to Marca saying he didn't want to leave Real Madrid

      haha I wonder why

If they miss the Champions league this season then money men will be a tad angry.

Aye, the pressure of making a top four finish is massive for them, they've spent huge amounts of money for a team outside of CL football and if they miss out again it'll be a disaster for them.

I don't really rate Blind. Watched him in the world cup and he's a bit meh. He'll probably help them defensively though but as Chazza said, he's very left sided, so even if he can play in midfield, he's not really a specialist there. Think he'll end up at centre back for them.

Ajax have ****ed up a bit only getting £14m, UTD prefer paying a bit closer to £30m when they sign a player

At least Rojo and Blind represent good value. The other fees they have paid have been nuts.

Blind is a headline writers dream waiting to happen!

Blind just comes across as a handy utility player - plays a number of positions without nailing down a single one. I'm sure you can do better with £14m but when you're scrambling at the end of the window, you're stuck really.

the big thing is fergie and what he leaves behind - if he leaves a good squad, they have money to spend and bring in someone like Mourinho, then they will be ok...

however ideal situation would be that he goes, giggs retires, vidic leaves, rooney wants out, ferdinand moves on and they appoint someone like Moyes

This summer, they signed Rojo, Shaw, Blind and DiMaria who are all left sided players. This will be interesting IMO. I'm not sure they are being strategic enough in their purchases.

I think he's picked players who will offer him flexibility for changing formations lots mid-game. From that pov they make good sense. Still overloaded at the front and crap at the back though.

He'll need since he'll be changing from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 at half time every game
