I wonder if he would be as willing to join if they were not in the CL again. It would almost be handing Messi(Suarez??) the world player of the year award

They could replace him with Sterling.....

Maybe they'd be losing a player they wanted to keep and then missing out on their number one target (Sterling).

This is getting all a bit convoluted now though, Partridge style.

Love this ludicrous quote from ex-Man Utd legend Louis Saha:

Rooney will have to adapt, I see him as the new Paul Scholes. He's got the ability to play in the middle and dictate the game as his vision is amazing and he can score goals from many areas'
I doubt Scholes was ever in the position of being paid £300k a week though

Surely this year they'll post a huge loss after the spending spree they've had coupled with falling revenues. They're too big to do a Leeds though, and being stock market listed surely they only have make a cash call if they start to feel a little skint

They must have better accountants than this paragraph has you believe?

It expects revenue in 2015 to fall to between £385m and £395m, suggesting its failure to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years may be to blame.
May be to blame? They don't know for sure?

United expect wages to drop in 2014-15 due in part to exits of Ferdinand, Vidic & Evra

Ed Woodward highlights how Man United won the International Champions Cup recently
                            __________________________________________________ _

                            DailyMail:
United's wage bill rose 19 per cent to £214.8m, an increase of £34.3m, 'primarily due to the impact of player acquisitions and renegotiated player contracts', according to the annual report.

This is the first time United's wage bill has broken the £200m barrier and they are only the second club after Man City to exceed it. This is before the summer acquisitions of Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Marco Rojo, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera have their impact.

Yeah, helped them a lot over the years. They kind of cheated, but we knew that anyway.
                                Are we winning?
