Out of interest, can keepers withstand periods out of the first team and come back as though they'd never missed a match? I guess they don't do much running..

Not too different to what happened with Suarez isn't it?
          Are we winning?

You'd have thought that he'd be better sitting tight for a year and leaving on a free to Madrid in the summer. The signing on fee that he would have commanded would surely have been more than any wage rise that United are offering with this new contract.

It is similar in some ways, but the big difference is that De Gea would have been out of contract in the summer so if he wants to go to Madrid (and they still want him) he could have done so and it would have been fairly straight forward sort out i.e. from January he could negotiate a deal for himself and as he woud be going on a free hec could try and get bigger wages / a bigger signing on fee.

Now assuming there is a release clause of a specified amount he could still go to Madrid in the summer (assuming Madrid meet that clause and he still wants to go). The main people to benefit from such an arrangement at Man Utd as they will now get a transfer fee if he goes. If De Gea wants to go to Madrid presumably Man Utd have offered him a significant pay rise to stay and/or he is worried about his future if Man Utd freeze him out of the side and he doesn't play for a year, those ar ethe only reasons I can see him signing (unless he has changed his mind about Madrid).
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Aye, as I thought, no difference really.

allegedly getting 200k back paid .....8 million + 200k a week wages and presumably a guaranteed pay off when he goes next year to as Real Madrid.

They will be paying 30/50 million and he will get 10/15% of that and probably a bonus from Scum for not going on a free.

Yeah I saw that earlier, totally cringe-worthy

Only Mata will have any real class and penetration, we really need to mark him out completely - as opposed to leaving him free on the right to get open goals from overhit crosses.

I can't believe we're going to lose to this shower of smelly ****.

He'd have probably done this but the fly in the ointment was probably the Euros next summer. I'm sure the mancs will have told him he won't be playing games if he didn't sign a new contract and if he wasn't playing at club level his place in the Spain squad next summer would be in jeopardy.

I think he'll still leave but he'll likely win them a few undeserved points along the way and they'll get a very good fee for him at the end of it all. Shame Madrid are ****wits or it would have been done in time. Maybe the mancs played the whole thing brilliantly after all, got him to stay, new contract and get the benefit of a top player and a good fee next summer.
